About the Organization
Savoy is one of Bangladesh's most established and recognisable ice cream brands, with a heritage spanning more than seven decades. Savoy Ice Cream is a renowned ice cream brand in Bangladesh, and its roots reach back to the mid-twentieth century; since its inception in 1950, Savoy started off by producing bakery and confectionery items, which was later taken over by the Army Welfare Trust, which ventured into the business of chocolates and ice cream for the first time in the company's history, and in 2014 Golden Group acquired the rights from Senakalyan Sangstha and has since rejuvenated the company by introducing a wide range of ice creams and state-of-the-art facilities. Today it operates as part of a larger business house; Savoy's journey began in the 1950s and, after joining the Golden Group family in 2014, it has grown to become one of the leading ice cream and chocolate manufacturers in the country.
The brand combines its long heritage with a modern, quality-focused identity. Its vision is to spread joy and happiness in the community through pure and authentic products, with a focus on outstanding quality, service, cleanliness, and value. It is also distinguished by its manufacturing standards; Savoy describes itself as Bangladesh's only ice cream producer that completely adheres to European product specifications and quality, operating an automated CIP system meeting European standards, a fully automated SCADA refrigeration control system from Japan, and utility systems sourced from the United States and Europe. The company is led by Chairman and Managing Director Niaz Ahmed, is headquartered at Navana Tower in Gulshan, Dhaka, and won the Best Premier Pavilion award in Category A at the Dhaka International Trade Fair 2024.
Business Operations
Savoy manufactures and markets a broad, innovation-driven portfolio of ice cream and frozen desserts, supported by modern production facilities and a nationwide distribution network. Its research and product-development efforts have produced four wide ranges of ice cream — Regular, Premium, Natural, and Zero Cal — and it has introduced new genres of taste using local olive, orange, and carrot in products such as Savoy Jalpai, Carrot Delight, and Orange Blast, the first of their kind in Bangladesh, while its flagship Savoy Shahi Kheer was developed to showcase Bangladeshi tradition and culture through its taste and packaging. It continues to expand into new formats aimed at younger consumers, such as its Discone and Chocobar lines.
Beyond manufacturing, Savoy has built an active commercial and brand-partnership operation. It sells through retailers, distributors, and its own Savoy Gallery outlets nationwide, and has signed loyalty partnerships with major telecom operators; Banglalink partnered with Savoy Ice Cream to offer its Orange Club loyalty members discounts on online purchases and on elite products such as scoops and milkshakes at Savoy Gallery outlets nationwide. The company also runs a structured talent operation, recruiting management trainees and specialists across marketing, sales, distribution, and finance, and exports to markets including Singapore and Italy.
