About the Organization
The United Nations Youth and Students Association of Bangladesh (UNYSAB) is the country's foremost youth movement built around the philosophy of the United Nations. UNYSAB is the largest and oldest voluntary youth and student movement that works with United Nations philosophy, and it operates as a mission-driven volunteer body; it is a non-profit youth organisation promoting "Leadership Through Volunteerism" in Bangladesh, with 5,000 members, representing youth perspectives on global issues and organising events to raise social awareness and develop leadership skills. Its purpose centres on channelling young voices into global conversations; it is a voluntary youth and student movement for the United Nations, dedicated to conveying the voice of the young generation on current global issues such as the MDGs, climate, human rights and development, environment, disarmament, and social justice, providing an excellent environment for developing organisational and leadership skills, intellectual abilities, and research orientation.
The organisation has both national reach and a long track record. UNYSAB is a huge network spanning over seven divisions of the country, partnered with many prominent groups, and over its past 20 years of journey it has attracted some of the country's brightest youths. That history has produced an exceptional alumni base; its alumni are spread across every sector, from corporate to development and from public service to the UN. Headquartered in the Jigatala area of Dhaka, it is widely recognised as a leadership incubator; UNYSAB is one of the largest volunteer hubs of the country, actively working for the development of the interpersonal skills of the youth of Bangladesh, and is determined to create future leaders for the country.
Business Operations
As a non-profit movement, UNYSAB's "operations" take the form of year-round programmes that build diplomacy, leadership, and civic-engagement skills. Its core activities include organising Model United Nations (MUN) conferences and MUN workshops at university, college, and school levels; organising seminars, workshops, and promotional activities on burning global problems and personal development; participating in MUNs around the world to enhance diplomatic abilities; commemorating major UN days; and organising cultural and youth exchange programmes. Skill-building runs through all of it; UNYSAB develops communication skills through Model UN conferences, exchange programmes, and leadership workshops throughout the year, and since the adoption of the Sustainable Development Goals, it has been promoting sustainable development through its organisational activities.
Its flagship programme is the country's pioneering MUN platform. UNYSAB is the pioneer of Model United Nations in Bangladesh; the first-ever MUN conference in the country was organised by UNYSAB in association with UNAB and UNIC-Dhaka in October 2002, in observance of United Nations Day. That initiative grew into a long-running national series; UNYSAB has hosted over 11 Model United Nations conferences in Bangladesh and achieved success at international MUNs in various countries, anchored by BANMUN (Bangladesh Model United Nations), its oldest and most prestigious national MUN. Beyond conferences, it runs signature civic and social-impact initiatives; its projects have included the Shadow Youth Parliament organised with the Centre for Men and Masculinities Studies and supported by ActionAid Bangladesh, alongside flood-relief distributions and International Youth Day programmes.
Affiliations With BUP Career Club
UNYSAB has partnered with the BUP Career Club as a Community Partner for this year's flagship event, the City Bank Presents BUP Career & Education Fest 2026, powered by Trust Bank PLC and co-powered by BMTF. In this role, UNYSAB lends its national youth network and volunteer community to the fest, helping extend its reach to students and young professionals across the country and contributing to the event's youth-engagement and leadership-development character.
The partnership is a strong thematic fit between the two organisations. The BUP Career Club works to create a bridge between the corporate world and the university, helping fresh graduates reach their desired professions while equipping students with the skills to stay ahead of the competition. As the country's largest and oldest UN-affiliated youth movement, built on leadership through volunteerism and home to one of Bangladesh's strongest alumni networks across the corporate, development, public-service, and UN sectors, UNYSAB brings a deep well of leadership training, diplomacy, and professional networking to the fest, while connecting its own members and volunteers with the recruiters and career opportunities the event convenes.
