About the Organization
Foodi is a fast-growing, home-grown Bangladeshi food and grocery delivery platform, backed by a major corporate group. Foodi is a Bangladeshi on-demand food and grocery delivery company headquartered in Dhaka, operating as part of the US-Bangla Group. It is a recent but rapidly expanding entrant; foodi, a sister concern of the US-Bangla Group, officially launched its operations in 2024 with a commitment to redefining the food delivery landscape in Bangladesh, focusing since inception on advancing sustainable technology while introducing innovative features. A point of pride for the company is its fully local character; FOODI, a concern of US-Bangla Airlines, launched its online food-delivery operation in June 2024 as a local initiative, with its cutting-edge mobile application built by local developers.
Despite its youth, Foodi has scaled quickly to become a major player in the sector. It operates in 27 districts, makes around 1 million deliveries per month, has more than 10,000 registered riders, and holds the second-largest market share in the Bangladeshi food delivery sector. Its mission carries a strong youth-employment dimension; Foodi is committed to empowering the educated youth society, which it sees as playing a vital role in eliminating unemployment, and to contributing to the development of Bangladesh's digital economy. The company is led operationally by Chief Operating Officer Md Shahnewaz Mannan, who has said the company aims to reach every household in Bangladesh with meaningful and accessible food delivery solutions.
Business Operations
Foodi runs an own-app, own-fleet model spanning food and grocery delivery and several adjacent services. It is a food delivery platform that works with many food merchants to deliver their food to customers via Foodi's own app and rider fleet. Its services extend well beyond restaurant meals; its app lets customers enjoy dine-in, pick-up, and even flower delivery, and through its grocery division, Foodimart, it covers everyday essentials. Its delivery network grew quickly from the capital outward; at launch it connected with more than 4,000 restaurants and shops as delivery partners, offered 24-hour food delivery in Dhaka areas including Gulshan, Banani, Baridhara, Tejgaon, and Badda, and had already started operations in Chattogram, Sylhet, Rajshahi, Narayanganj, Khulna, Cox's Bazar, Gazipur, and Savar.
A distinctive feature of Foodi's operations is its emphasis on sustainability-driven innovation. It launched a pioneering feature called "Food Rescue," allowing users to repurchase unfulfilled orders at a reduced price, with the twofold goal of minimising food wastage and providing cost-effective options for customers, making foodi the first food delivery platform in Bangladesh to implement such a sustainability-driven solution.
Affiliations With BUP Career Club
Foodi has joined the BUP Career Club's flagship event as a participating organization for the BUP Career and Education Fest. The partnership reflects a natural fit between the two organisations. The BUP Career Club works to bridge the corporate world and the university, helping fresh graduates reach their desired professions while equipping students with the skills to get ahead. As one of Bangladesh's fastest-growing, fully local food and grocery delivery platforms and a concern of US-Bangla Group, Foodi offers BUP students exposure to careers in the dynamic food-tech, logistics, and digital-commerce space, spanning technology, operations, marketing, and merchant partnerships, while the company gains access to young talent as it scales nationwide.
