About the Organization
Marico Bangladesh Limited is one of the country's largest and most trusted fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) companies, best known for its flagship Parachute brand. Marico Bangladesh Limited is among the top three FMCG MNC companies and a trusted brand in the beauty and wellness space in Bangladesh, touching the lives of one out of every two Bangladeshis with an array of brands across hair nourishment, edible oil, and male grooming, through a strong distribution network that reaches more than 790,000 outlets throughout the country. It is a long-established subsidiary of an Indian multinational; established in 1999, Marico Bangladesh is a subsidiary of Marico Limited, a multinational FMCG powerhouse operating across 26-plus countries in Asia and Africa, and in 2009 its stocks were listed on the Dhaka and Chittagong Stock Exchanges.
Its corporate journey in Bangladesh is well documented. The company was incorporated on 6 September 1999, commenced operations on 30 January 2000, converted into a public limited company in 2008, and was quoted on the Dhaka and Chittagong Stock Exchanges in September 2009. The business is built on a deeply local manufacturing base and a flagship brand with strong heritage; 99.9% of its portfolio is locally manufactured under a "Made in Bangladesh" commitment, with products also reaching Nepal, India, the Middle East, Egypt, and Vietnam, and its flagship Parachute Advansed brand has completed 25 successful years in the country. The company is headquartered in Dhaka.
Business Operations
Marico Bangladesh manufactures and markets a broad portfolio of consumer products, with a strong base in hair care, edible oil, and male grooming. Its dynamic portfolio includes well-known brands such as Parachute, Parachute Advansed, Nihar Naturals, Parachute Naturale, Parachute SkinPure, Saffola Active, HairCode, Just For Baby, and Livon, spanning hair nourishment, edible oil, skin care, baby care, and male grooming. Its single most important product remains its flagship; more than 80% of the company's turnover is derived from the sale of Parachute Coconut Oil, which has enjoyed the leadership position in the hair-oil market of Bangladesh for several years, while the company has steadily diversified, most notably by expanding its Value Added Hair Oil segment and leading the powdered hair-dye market with HairCode.
The company runs an extensive nationwide distribution and manufacturing operation, supported by sales depots in Gazipur, Chittagong, Bogra, and Jessore. It also invests actively in young talent through university engagement; Marico Bangladesh runs an "IGNITE" campus-ambassador programme, hosting learning sessions for students such as a "Secrets of Brand Management" session at its head office, reflecting a strong orientation toward connecting with universities and emerging graduates.
Affiliations With BUP Career Club
Marico has a confirmed and active relationship with the BUP Career Club's flagship event, both as a recruiter and as a knowledge contributor. At the seventh annual "Career and Education Fest 2022," powered by Trust Bank Limited, Marico was among the participating companies, alongside bKash, Banglalink, IPDC Finance, BRAC Bank, Pathao, and Nagad, among others. Its engagement deepened at the 2025 edition through a leadership session; at the BUP Career and Education Fest 2025, Sabbir Ahmed, Head of HR at Marico, delivered a session on workplace culture and career growth. This prestigious tie even grew stronger when Marico again arrived as a participating organization of the 9th edition of BUP Career and Education Fest 2026.
This affiliation is a strong, natural fit. The BUP Career Club works to create a bridge between the corporate world and the university, helping fresh graduates reach their desired professions while equipping students with the skills to stay ahead of the competition. As a top-three FMCG multinational in Bangladesh with a dedicated campus-engagement programme, Marico offers BUP students exposure to careers across brand management and marketing, sales and distribution, supply chain, finance, and human resources, while the company connects with a strong pool of business and professional graduates for its talent pipeline.
